Exceptional service from all the staff. The breakfasts were very good and the coffee and beverages were available all day. The rooms were very tidy and clean. The hot tub was fantastic. Bert drove my Mom to a local restaurant to look for her glasses that we later found in our room which was very impressive. The location is relatively quiet.
This was the first time that I stayed in this hotel as it is just a little outside the town on the junction of Highway 2 and the Bicentennial Highway.I was in for a surprise. This is a friendly place to stay overnight; the Mr Mike's Restaurant conveniently located sharing the same parking lot. I enjoyed the Farm-like view from my window...(see photos) with a farm and a windmill to aerate the pond. The staff acted as an extended familie, seemingly enjoying each other's company. It may not have the amenities like a swimming pool or game room (thank you!) but very uniquely it offers a FREE DVD's lending library and DVD players in the room. The breakfast nook (included) is open for 24/7 for coffee and other drinks and I felt better served compared to Hotels with more stars behind their name. A place to return.
I overnighted here during a work trip while doing a circuit to Red Earth Creek. The bed was comfortable enough. The decor seemed dated and worn compared to some of the other smaller centers I've worked out of. TV was small. Breakfast really needed rice to bit a 5/7. The eggs were rubbery. Servicewise the staff seemed disinterested. They insisted I had already paid online when I hadn't. It was a bit strange to hear someone not wanting you to give them money.
I stayed here a few times before, and have always enjoyed it. It is convenient, with a Mr Mikes restaurant just across the parking lot. Breakfast is included, and is a simple continental. Definitely recommend.
Hotel is conveniently located at entrance of Slave Lake, coming in from Highway 2. Rooms are clean and spacious, great ceiling height though furnishings are a bit dated. Hotel has complementary breakfast with hot items (eggs and some protein).
